THE MARTIAN SMG

Marvin Haskins, known professionally as The MarTian SMG is an American record producer, songwriter, mixing engineer, visual artist, youtuber, and serial entrepreneur. Born and raised in Buffalo, New York. He is the owner and founder of multiple entertainment, fashion ,and technology business ventures such as Planet Rack Records, Only Few Get Selected, Space Swagger, and ArtWurl. The MarTian has worked with numerous acts over the course of 15 years being in the industry.

He worked with Laane V, Benny The Butcher, Dutch Markell, Shawn Dough, DoughboyQui, Nubian, T-Ferg, AAA Mac Milli, Trey Drum, Gev, Sunih Reed, Million Dolla Muzik, Ponzo Houdini, Pharaoh Paige, Grace Modi, and more.

In 2004, He created production group, called Select Music Group with his older brother Shawn Dough. In 2006, He attended Villa Maria College, for the music business, graphic design and fine arts program. He learned audio engineering and mastering from Anthony Casuccio, who is the owner of Xtream Audio Mastering, and President of Buffalo Music Hall of Fame.

On February 22, 2012, He released his first single “ Party Of The Year ” featuring his brother Shawn Dough. The single was first performed live at Webster Hall, on February 27, 2012, during Coast 2 Coast MixTapes, NYC mixer edition event featuring A-Mafia, Freekey Zekey, and other performers.

On May 20, 2013, He released his first studio extended player, Innovative Music and shared the stage with Shawn Dough opening up for recording artist “ Cassidy ” at Buffalo LIVE performing his second debut single “ All I Know ” from extended player Innovative Music. He also released single " Get Rich " off the project and the song generated one million streams in a year as a Soundcloud exclusive premiere on the platform.

On July 1, 2013, He released his third single “ Champagne & Lights ” from Innovative Music and submitted the song to 93.7 WBLK radio station through B.V.O (Buffalo Very Own) contest by DJ Supreme, gaining exposure from airplay on the radio station.

On August 27, 2013, He attended Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes 6th Convention at Hyatt Regency located in downtown Miami, Florida. He participated in the seminar at Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes 6th Convention hosted by Lil Fats, J- Hatch from iStandard Producers, and special guest Jahlil Beats, Baby Paul, DJ Z (DjBooth), Mike Trampe, Bigga Rankin, DJ EPPS, DJ Nasty, Hugo Diaz from Diaz Brothers, Gorilla Tek, Cyhi The Prynce, Gorilla Zoe, Freeway, Driicky Graham, Hip-Hop (DX).

On August 30, 2013, He performed live at Club Therapy “ Champagne & Lights ” opening up for recording artists, N.O.R.E, Good Belt Gang, Nature, Compton’s Buck, with music by DJ Big Kap.
